"Do Re Mi" theatre was led by George Val between 1952 and 1961. Some of his performances took place at the Alhambra in Jaffa , others in the summer garden of the American Ziona House (ZOA House) in Tel Aviv, which numbered 500 seats. Val's productions were costly, using a dancer, a musical ensemble including chorus and orchestra, and stunning scenery. Val hosted American musicals such as "Pajama Games" and "Annie Get Your Gun". Val surrounded young talents like Ephraim Kishon who wrote for “Do Re Mi” the Shalom Shalom magazine show, and the future director and film producer Menahem Golanwho directed "Pijama Games". The Suez Crisis and the Sinai Campaign (1956) had severe consequences for Shulamit's production and the Val ensemble due to the recruitment of artists and the public and the sudden drop in ticket sales. The large halls hired by Val remained almost empty.
