Before Rosh Hashana, 1948. Pictured here is the corner of Allenby & Yehuda Halevy St. in Tel Aviv. That season of upcoming holidays came about just a few months after the deceleration of the foundation of the State of Israel and the time was a time of a national emergency. What caught our eye in this photograph is the obvious billboard by "The Committee for The Exiles at Cyprus". The sign directed to the collection center of "holiday packages" for those forced to spend the holiday on the Island of Cyprus, unable to enter the country.
