In 1941, a group of distinguished looking characters got together at “Gil” Cafe in Herzliya. The occasion was a marriage celebration for officer Kaplan to his unknown love. Rudi was there to document the elegant event in a fascinating series that we only recently discovered. We noticed the dark robes and the military uniforms, the row of keffiyehs in the dim light and all the frozen gestures between the participants. There is not much information about officer Kaplan or his marriage, but these photos leave a lot up to the imagination.
