Hanna Rovina (1888-1980) was known as “the First Lady of Israeli Theater”. She was born in Belarus and joined the Hebrew theatrical studio in Moscow which would become the basis of the Habimah theatre. In 1925, Rovina moved to Israel, where her work in the theater established her reputation as Israel’s leading actress.
