Tu BiShvat, “The New Year of the Trees” was one of the most celebrated occasions during Israel’s early years. The hebrew date of the 15th of Shevat was dedicated to tree planting ceremonies and overall appreciation of the land and it’s local fruits. Rudi took this series of portraits at a tree planting event in a school. We enjoyed the complete concentration of the child’s gaze in the delicate plant, her school bag mixing with the natural surroundings. The play of focus and blur creates a small, perfect moment of recreation in nature.
